#WEWILL Social Action Programme

for students
empowering students
With sponsorship and support from Ormiston Trust, BOA has devised a highly-successful and celebrated outreach programme, known as the #WeWill project. Through this programme, we aim to empower our students to be both ambassadors for the Arts and active citizens who strive to bring about change in the local community.
outreach
Through the excellent leadership of Mary Savva, the Youth Social Action Lead at BOA, our students learn to hone crucial skills to create and lead arts workshops for local primary schools, which in turn inspires young children who do not have equal access to the Arts.
To date, we have established effective partnerships with 25 local primary schools and have ensured 5,317 children have benefited from free workshops, performance opportunities and interactions with like-minded individuals.

testimonials
"BOA has thoughtfully adapted their workshops to meet the individual needs of our pupils, offering engaging experiences across a variety of performing arts disciplines, including dance, drama, and music."
Dame Ellen Pinsent SEND School, Kings Heath
"Our children have all reported how much they have enjoyed working with older students from BOA and how they have looked up to them as role models, and for many of them, as something that they can aspire to. For many of them, they will not have had the chance to work with young adults in this way before or to develop their drama skills either."
Deputy Head Teacher and DSL at Blakesley Hall Primary School.
"After 4 fantastic days of working together, BOA came into our spaces and made every pupil feel included and excited."

boa super Saturday School
Through our Saturday School programme, we address a lack of arts enrichment opportunities outside of school, particularly among communities affected by income inequality and economic disadvantage. Through a wide range of creative workshops – including drama, dance, music, and DJ-ing – we aim to foster an appreciation of the arts and potential in the next generation of creators and performers. Our work encourages young people to push boundaries, while promoting community cohesion, inclusion, and diversity. Most importantly and through our own fundraising and the generosity of Ormiston Trust, places are free for young children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
