In response to unprecedented demand for Post 18 courses, Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA), listed in the 'Stage' as one of the top performing arts schools, is for the first time opening it's doors to post 18 students on it's new foundation course.
This new 'one year foundation course' will give students professional training in acting, dancing and singing. Students will have access to west end directors, choreographers, musical directors, agents and casting agents.
This course is designed for students who already have some musical theatre training but wish to immerse themselves in the musical theatre genre and want to improve their technique in the three disciplines of acting, dancing and singing.
The course is not designed to obtain a qualification but provide additional training to develop into a high standard "triple threat performer". Whether you want to use these enhanced skills for auditions into the industry, a gap year before pursuing a degree course or just partaking for enjoyment and your passion for musical theatre, this course guarantees you access to perform in professional productions alongside professional actors, directors and creative teams.
Entry is by audition only.
You will be required to demonstrate, in a performance audition, your acting, dancing and singing ability. The practical audition will be followed by a short interview.
On receipt of an application, students will be called to an audition. Auditions will take place between the 22nd and 30th June 2019.
There isn't an academic requirement for entry.
This is a full-time course running from mid-September 2019 to the end of July 2020.
Course fees: £3000.
