what will I be studying?

The aim of this option is to offer you a diverse range of units designed to equip you with the confidence and skills to engage creatively with the exciting, innovative and fast developing world of digital media in its many forms.

how will I be assessed?

You will be assessed via coursework, practical work and tutor assessment.

Each student will be expected to build up an extensive portfolio of work for assessment so will have good organisational skills. Coursework will be completed in a variety of ways - mainly practical productions but also essays, oral and power-point presentations, written evaluations, blogs and evaluative seminars.

what are the entry requirements?

We will be offering places to those students who have natural talent, passion and enthusiasm to perform at their full potential and to go beyond it.

You will be selected onto the new media option through an aptitude workshop.

what can I do after my BTEC?

With your qualification you could study further and go on to completing a degree in various new media related subjects. Alternatively you could enter the world of work in areas such as computer gaming and 3D animation.
