Getting to BOA
As part of the Smart Network, Smarter Choices sustainable transport initiative, BOA staff and students are entitled to a variety of free cycling activities aimed at getting more people cycling more often.  The courses are run by BikeRight! the UK’s largest cycle training organisation, and take place at venues around the West Midlands (Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Coventry and more) on evenings and weekends. www.bikeright.co.uk/westmidlands

Nervous about riding on the road?  Urban Cycle Skills Training caters for everyone from complete novices to experienced riders and helps you learn the safest way to ride.  If you don’t have a bike, BikeRight! can lend you one for your session and you can have up to six hours of training.  Bitesize Maintenance Classes teach you the basics of home maintenance in four modules (Safety Checks, Punctures, Brakes and Gears) – pick and choose or come to all four.  For more information and to book your training, visit www.bikeright.co.uk/westmidlands

If you need help planning your route to BOA go to www.cyclestreets.net or http://localview.birmingham.gov.uk/cycling/bham_cycling.html (Birmingham council’s cycling map).
